In my studio on the Cape Fear River I make primarily functional pottery from porcelain clay. I strive for craftsmanship and believe that the objects we use every day should be visually pleasing and function well. I hope for a beautiful form with decoration that is inspired by the natural world.

I began my clay study with Setsua Kotani at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro as a part of my BFA in Art Education and studied further with Jim Pringle in Chapel Hill and Hiroshi Sueyoshi at the Cameron Art Museum in Wilmington, NC. I continue to learn through workshops at Penland School of Craft.
